Lathemtown Farm Fresh Market: This Week at the Market
This week looks like it will quite the brutal heat wave on top of our already hot summer! I have to admit, my turning over the summer to fall garden has been slow going. I usually cope well in the heat, but it has even taken its toll on me! I do have some greens sprouting up – mixed kale and arugula. I’m hoping the swiss chard, beans and squash pop up too. I’ll be starting more in pots in the greenhouse so I can keep them relatively moist and not under direct scorching sun.
If you’re like me, and ready to ditch this endless heat and welcome fall….. I am going to get that feeling going with a trip to Elliajy for some apples!!!
Container/ jar/ carton returns – thank you! If I missed your order credit, pleae let me know with a comment on your order. Just say “Returned Containers!”
Have you tried a McKinnon Craft Cocktail yet? I’ve got them on sale this week!
Hang in there – fall is around the corner!
On a personal note…. my daughter is expecting in December and has been having some complications. There is a chance I may need to delay this week’s market, but will keep you posted if that happens.
Thank you for your support!

Champaign, OH: Monday Mania
Good morning! And, if you are like me, you are facing a manic Monday, leading into a crazy week!
I’m taking a bit of time, this morning, to get my market orders in, so I can relax on the food front, knowing that I can pack my amazing items up, on Thursday, and buzz home with them, having not had to hit the big stores, and make my way through their craziness.
I was looking back at home this market has helped to shape my shopping habits since May of 2011…all for the good!!
And, if you don’t jump on while we are bursting with local/seasonal items, you will be so sad!!
Go ahead…wipe out that manic Monday feeling, and get your orders in before tomorrow at 8am!
Have to catch an early train
Got to be to work by nine
And if I had an aeroplane
I still couldn’t make it on time…
(Manic Monday-The Bangles)
And, there you go…a song implant to sing while you are placing those orders!
XOXO,
Cosmic Pam

Foothills Market: The Market is Open!
The weather sure doesn’t seem like it, but summer is winding down in the garden. Some Foothills Market favorites, like tomatoes, are beginning to slow down. We still have tomatoes available, but now is the season for other hot-weather crops, like peppers. If you are looking for a quick supper that won’t heat up the kitchen, pick up some beef and peppers (we have a selection of both sweet and hot varieties) for a stir-fry. One skillet, 30 minutes, and better for you than take-out!
Browse the market between now and 5:00 p.m. Wednesday. We’ll have the orders ready for pickup on Thursday.
Eat something fresh this week!
