Yentz Family Farm: Our garden is slowly winding down and we are waiting for some fall veggies to be ready. We have several types of peppers and herbs to select from but this week we would like to highlight some of our newly added products. We have added Pumpkin Hand Pies, Pumpkin Bread, Cinnamon Rolls and Garlic Butter Dinner Rolls. We have also added Chocolate Chip Cookies and Chocolate Brownies that are available in single serve options. We will be adding full size pies and small desert platters for the holidays that make great holiday or hostess gifts along with gift baskets loaded with our snacks and goodies. Be on the lookout for our new additions!

If anyone is looking for a particular freeze dried candy please by all means send me an email and I’ll do my best to have them available for next week. Freeze Dried Cantaloupe Bites, Golden Watermelon Bites, Gummy Geeks (Originally Nerd Gummy clusters), Dried Jalapeno Pepper, Dried Mixed Color Bell Pepper, Dried Rancher Puffs (Originally Jolly Ranches), Dried Scuttles (originally Skittles), Dried Strawberry Bites, Dried Sun Kist Cherry Tomatoes, Dried Taphy Bombs (aka Originally Salt Water Taffy), Dried Tomatoes and Dried Watermelon Bites, always check back, consently adding new items.
The Natural Nook:
I am a mom to 5 amazing kids and never feel more satisfied than when I provide our family of 7 with natural, nourishing food and products that keep us all healthy and thriving. Now that we are enjoying the benefits of this lifestyle, I wanted to share some of the products I make for our family in my kitchen with our community as well. I would like to start by offering homemade elderberry syrup as an effective remedy against colds and viruses as well homemade bone broth packed with collagen that can be used as broth in soups or just warmed to drink as is for health benefits.
Quarter Spring Farm: is proud to present pounds and pounds of perfectly pastured poultry products for your palate’s pleasure. Our scintillating skin softening soaps are suavely secented and smell supberb. We also have lamb products.
Thweatt Things: Added a new item this week, Get ready for holiday cooking with my new casserole cozies. Square cozy fits a standard square 8×8 pan, larger cozy fits a 9 × 13 casserole dish. These are not microwaveable as they are lined with insul-brite, a metallic backed batting which helps to insulate your food. Can be customized for holidays or certain color schemes upon request. The Walker Tote organizer fits over most walkers and makes a stable holder for newspapers, remotes, fiber arts and crafts, tissues, phones and water bottles. These lightweight totes are made of cotton and completely washable. They make great gifts for the elderly who rely on walkers for mobility. Or Mother’s with strollers to keep items handy. Also will work on shopping carts.
The start-up of school means more time to sew and I’m doing just that. This fall I’m featuring handmade Egg-gathering Aprons in both adult and kids sizes. These are made from 100% cotton, pre-washed and machine washable and dryable for easy care. The pockets for the eggs are large enough to accommodate a larger egg (like a duck egg) or a couple of hen eggs. These could also be useful for crafting or any other activity where small pockets might come in handy. Check out my posts for pricing info. I can also customize them for you if you’d like a matching adult/child combo. Thanks for looking.
Carol’s Herbs (CS3 Farms): newly added this week…..Lions Mane Double Extraction: This double extraction was made from a Lions mane found on our property. First extraction was in a gluten free vodka and the second extraction was in water from our rain harvested water. Researched and shown benefits on breath health according to Dr. Axe
Reishi Mushroom double extraction is great for the thyroid, immune system and anti cancer. Look up more at https://www.kindroot.com and read about it in the Feb 25, 2023 edition
Pinky’s Micros: You are missing out if you don’t eat these greens…healthy..put them in a smoothy, top you salads or sandwich, make rollups….Microgreens pack 40x more vital nutrients than their mature counterparts. Extremely dense in vital enzymes, minerals, vitamins, omega, and high does of chlorophyll. There aren’t many foods you could eat that are that packed of nutrients and harvested a day before delivery for freshness.
Put them on your sandwiches, top your salads, or use them in place of lettuce.
Flying S Farms: Our fall/winter produce are coming in Broccoli Heads, Butternut Squash, Head Cabbage, Carnival Winter pumpkin, Napa Cabbage, Radishes – Diakon, White Hailstone, Cherry Bell, Mixed Kale, Cherry Tomato and Mt. Merit slicing tomato. As well as our baked items are back on the Market with a few ‘oldies but goodies’ brownies and lemon bars and Coconut Friendship Bread. Sour Dough bread and rolls Plain or Wheat. Breads are available sliced or unsliced. Jams will be added as we get them made this week, newest is our Concord Low Sugar Jelly from our vines on our farm! MISC MARKET NOTES
Most weeks our M@D newsletter is about food and farming. This week will be a bit different as I’ve had SO MANY questions about my mining trip last week that I’m exercising a bit of self indulgence and sharing a few things.
For starters, I’ve not cleaned up my rocks yet! That’s another story. Suffice to say my fragile Black Tourmaline will be hardened by the time I get to it.
Mining is WORK. Whatever the YouTube videos show you, they don’t include all the time and dirt you have to invest and dig through to find something worthwhile. Our group found three of the four gemstones at Hogg Mine along with many beautiful pieces of quartz.
We were fortunate to have one experienced miner in our group. One niece has been bordering her porch with plain quartz pieces from the mine as well as making yard art/electroculture plant stakes utilizing quartz she gets from the mine.
All in all it was good clean fun. The kids found the best place to dig for Black Tourmaline and found soft clay that they sculpted into forest animals. Thank God for the guys who pulled the wagon after it was heavy with tools and rocks. We all got really dirty and were really sore at the end of the day.
And yes – I would do it again and hope to some day.
We look forward to seeing you next Friday at one of our pickup locations. Thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible!
Old99Farm Market: Cider Day date change to Sunday 15th
Due to the rain forecast for all day saturday, we are moving the cider fest to Sunday 15th, 2 to 5pm. I’m up at midnight typing this to be as sure as I can of what tomorrow’s weather looks like.
We’ll still have the same program on Sunday; bring your jug to take home some fresh apple cider (and maybe even some Asian pear cider too). Bring some apples if you want to compare the taste of different varieties.
Lots of fun friendly people to meet. Pls send me an RSVP if you intend to join up.

Thank you for choosing Northeast Georgia Locally Grown as a way to support your local producers. This online farmers market allows you to buy directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!
PICKUP TIME is Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m.
If you do not get an email ORDER CONFIRMATION after you finish the checkout process, then your order is NOT complete. Head back to the market page, and your order might still be there waiting for you to check out! If you have any trouble or questions at all, we are here to help; simply reply to this email.
Once you place an order, be on the lookout for the order reminder email on Wednesday with further pickup and payment notes. Thanks for your support!
