Satsuma Spice Hot Toddy

Ingredients
10 to 20 Allspice berries
4 Cinnamon sticks
1 handful Whole cloves
3 Cardamom pods (emptied)
4 Apple rings
3 cups Water
1 Fresh turmeric nub (minced)
1 Fresh ginger nub (minced)
2 Lemon wheels
2 Satsuma oranges
1 teaspoon Honey (divided, for the cups)
2 to 4 ounces Bourbon or whiskey (optional)

Step by Step Instructions
  1. Pour the water into a large pan, then add allspice berries, cinnamon sticks, cloves, apple rings, lemon wheels, turmeric, and ginger to it. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  2. Turn the heat to the lowest setting, then add the peel and juice from one satsuma to the pan.
  3. Add 1/2 teaspoon into each cup, stir in 1/2 cup of tea into each, then stir in the juice from the other satsuma to each and the bourbon or whiskey if desired.
